hayes valley is one of the sunniest & warmest little pockets of the city; flat and walkable and packed into a few blocks, and it makes you feel like you're somewhere else entirely without ever leaving sf. it’s one of my favorite neighborhoods in our city (I know, I say that about every neighborhood but I mean it every time)

I come here to shop. that's the honest answer. this is the corridor that taught me what I actually like - where a $20 pair of earrings and a $300 purse sit two doors apart and both feel worth trying on. but somewhere along the way it also became where I eat, where I drink, where I take people when I want them to love this city

COFFEE + MATCHA

  • ★ Kope House - new; specialty coffee with asian flavors, the gochujang caramel latte is the one everyone loves right now (have also heard great things about their matcha!)

  • ★ Mercury Cafe - cozy throwback with gallery walls and used books; the scones are the move, thursday nights bring jazz

  • Ritual Coffee (Proxy) - grab it and sit in the sun by patricia’s green
